This volume invites the reader to discover, from the perspective of scientific research, the fascinating world of natural dyes, starting with those identified in textiles from Romanian museum collections. The story of the \u201chigh-class\u201d insect dyes, which competed for supremacy over the centuries, intertwines with that of the only dye that gave the name to a country. The results of scientific research which evidenced the use of the American cochineal in Romanian villages are presented together with experiments to reconstruct traditional stitches by using natural dyes. Rich in illustrations, the publication concludes its journey into the world of natural dyes with images of contemporary artworks that aim to fully explore the potential of natural color resources.<\/p>\n
